We are delighted to reveal that our very own Donna Smith and Calum Reynolds have been shortlisted for the Housekeeping Manager and Laundry Manager/Linen Keeper awards, respectively, at the Hotel Housekeeping Honours awards next month.
The Hotel Housekeeping Honours, titled ‘The Triple-H Awards’, recognises companies, individuals and services that stand out from the crowd within all sectors of housekeeping, back of house and hotel laundry in the hospitality industry.
The awards are an opportunity to showcase exceptional industry professionalism and customer service and demonstrate innovations and initiatives that make every guest experience feel special.
Bringing a wealth of experience from her rich and successful career working within a variety of award-winning hotels, Donna has dedicated her career in housekeeping to the satisfaction of her guests and the wellbeing of her team, whilst striving to go above and beyond to exceed The Belfry Hotel & Resort’s high standards.
Donna’s spirit and energy have inspired and motivated her team of over 80 employees, resulting in a reduced departmental turnover of 22% and internal developments and promotions of 17 team members since her appointment.
Commenting on the news, Donna said: “The challenges and rewards of managing and developing people is what drives me - I am dedicated to building and cultivating talent from within the team whilst also maintaining a happy merit-based and transparent working environment. Within the industry, we often joke that housekeeping is invisible – the ‘unseen’ and ‘forgotten’ – so to be shortlisted for this award not only puts a spotlight on my years of hard work, but also on my outstanding team.”
Since joining The Belfry Hotel & Resort as a Linen Attendant in 2014, Calum has proved himself through consistent hard work and commitment to the role, where he’s identified challenges and proposed solutions within the business: showcasing enterprise, ambition and passion for his career.
Calum said: “The team at The Belfry saw my potential and through their support I have been able to continually improve and deliver an exceptional guest experience. Being shortlisted for this award is a milestone in my career and I look forward to achieving more on my journey with The Belfry.”
