What is the Wave Surfer?

The Wave Surfer is an exciting surfing simulator where riders can experience the thrill of riding a continuous wave on a body board. Sessions are shared with up to nine other riders and are suitable for both beginners and experienced participants.

What are the Wave Surfer opening times?

The Wave Surfer is open daily from 10:00am – 8:00pm, Monday to Sunday. Last adminssion to ride 7pm.

How long is a session?

Each Wave Surfer session lasts 60 minutes which includes a 15 mins essential briefing

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets start from £30 per person, with peak-time sessions priced at £35 per person

How do I book?

All Wave Surfer sessions must be booked online in advance and are subject to availability. We recommend booking ahead, as popular sessions may sell out. Click HERE to book. 

Who can take part?

Participants must be aged 6 years or over, at least 1.1m tall and be confident swimmers 

What is your cancellation policy?

All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable. We are unable to offer refunds, exchanges or transfers for missed sessions.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booked session, fully changed and swim-ready.

What happens if I'm late?

A mandatory safety briefing takes place before every session. If you arrive late and miss the briefing, you will be unable to participate. Unfortunately, missed sessions cannot be refunded, exchanged or transferred.

Is the Wave Surfer suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Whether it's your first time or you're a seasoned rider, our team will provide a full safety briefing and guidance throughout the session. For safety reasons, all participants must be able to swim confidently

What should I wear?

Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times. No loose clothing.  Please arrive swim-ready for your session. Wetsuits are not essential and are not provided by The Belfry.

Are body boards provided?

Yes. Body boards are provided and included as part of your session. Only equipment provided by The Belfry may be used during the activity.

Is the Wave Surfer suitable during pregnancy?

No. For safety reasons, guests who are pregnant should not take part.

Can I participate if I have a medical condition?

The Wave Surfer is a physically demanding activity. You should not participate if you:

  • Have a neck, back, heart or other serious health condition
  • Have an injury that may affect your ability to take part safely
  • Are feeling unwell or experiencing breathing difficulties

If you are unsure, please speak to a member of the team before your session.

Can I participate after drinking alcohol?

No. Guests must not participate whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Can friends and family watch?

Yes. Friends and family are welcome to watch from the designated viewing deck.

Will I get a turn if my session is shared?

Yes. Sessions are shared with up to nine other riders, and our instructors will ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the experience during the session.

What happens in bad weather?

Your safety is our top priority. Sessions may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled due to:

  • Thunderstorms or lightning
  • High winds or severe weather
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Technical issues
  • Any other safety concern identified by our team

What are the key safety rules?

For everyone's safety:

  • Attend the mandatory safety briefing
  • Follow staff instructions at all times
  • Never enter the riding area without a board
  • Wait for staff permission before entering or exiting the ride area
  • Remove jewellery, watches and loose accessories before riding
  • Wear appropriate swimwear at all times
  • Respect fellow riders and guests

·        All participants must follow the instructions of our instructors and team members at all times. The Belfry reserves the right to refuse, suspend or end participation if behaviour places yourself, other guests or our team at risk.

Is parking available?

Yes. Complimentary on-site parking is available, subject to availability.

Are changing rooms available?

Yes. Changing rooms and toilet facilities are available near the Golf Shop. Lockers are not available at the Wave Surfer. Personal belongings are left at the owner's risk.

Can I bring food and drink into the Wave Surfer area?

No outside food or drink may be brought into the Wave Surfer area. Alcohol must not be consumed before participation.

Where can we eat before or after our session?

For a relaxed and family-friendly dining option, we recommend Sam's Bar & Kitchen within the Resort.

I've booked Summer Activities & Beach access. What does my wristband include?

Guests who have purchased a Summer Activities & Beach access ticket will receive a wristband valid for their allocated session.

Session times are:

  • Morning Session: 10:00am – 2:00pm
  • Afternoon Session: 2:00pm – 6:00pm

Your wristband must be worn and visible throughout your visit.

Can I stay all day with my Summer Activities & Beach wristband?

No. Access is limited to the session time selected when booking:

  • Morning Session: 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • Afternoon Session: 3:00pm – 8:00pm

Guests are welcome to stay within the Resort at the end of their allocated session.

I've booked both the Wave Surfer and Summer Activities & Beach access. What should I do?

Please check the timings of both bookings before your visit and allow plenty of time to attend your Wave Surfer safety briefing. Guests must arrive at the Wave Surfer 15 minutes before their booked session, regardless of their Summer Activities & Beach access times.

Can I bring my dog?

Whilst dogs are permitted in the Resort, they are not allowed in the Beach and WaveSurfer area.

Is the area wheelchair accessible?

Whilst our Resort is wheelchair friendly, the WaveSurfer area is not.
